Vilamoura is an area rather than an actual town, covering around 2000 hectares of land. Amongst the many attractions and facilities there are six different Golf Courses, five of which are just 5 minutes from the villa, a large Marina, the Lawn Bowling Club with two grass greens, a Tennis Centre just a few minutes walking distance, a Sports Club, a Shooting Club, an International Casino, a Cinema, and a Horse Riding School. There are also facilities for jet skiing and parascending.

Vilamoura Marina is the main centre of activity with a wide range of restaurants, bars, cafés and shops, including many designer shops. It  is surrounded by a selection of large hotels and luxury holiday homes.
There are of course also a selection of Grocery stores, Supermarkets, Pharmacies and health centres for day-to-day necessities.

Vilamoura has two beautiful beaches, Praia da Marina to the east of the marina, otherwise known as 'Vilamoura Beach' and Praia da Falésia to the west, running  all the way to Olhos d' Àgua.
Neighbouring the area is the attractive town of Quarteira, and to the northeast is the more commercial and administrative town of Loulé, famous for it's Saturday gypsy market and Brasilian style carnivals.

The city of Faro is conveniently just 25km away. Aswell being home to the Airport, the Forum shopping centre, a small marina and a long sandy beach Faro is also the home of the Ria Formosa lagoon, a nature reserve of over 17,000 hectares and a stopping place for hundreds of different birds during arrival in the spring mating season, and then migrating in the autumn period.
